The 2024-25 Montreal Canadiens regular season schedule is officially released.  And already you can begin taking bets on how well you think the Canadiens will fare this upcoming season though PartyCasino Ontario is one of the most popular picks on Casinos.com

Since the 1995–96 season, each team in the NHL plays 82 regular season games, 41 each of home and road. Each team plays either four or five games against the other teams in its own division.  Each team plays either three or four games against the other teams in its division.  As well as playing every team outside its division but within its conference, three times.   The remaining games of the regular season each team plays two games versus teams outside their conference.

The Montreal Canadiens open up their 2024-25 season verses the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday October 9, 2024.  For a change this season, the Canadiens open up their season at home.

The Canadiens play 10 back-to-back games this season.  Coincidentally, the Habs also play 10 afternoon games.

Each team has a mandatory bye week usually scheduled during the midpoint of the season, when the All-Star is held.  But for the 2024-25 season, there will not be an All-Star game in 2025, as the NHL will instead hold a new Four Nations Face-Off tournament as a preview for the league’s return to Olympic participation in 2026.  The cities of Boston and Montreal will co-host the Four Nations Face-Off.

Every year in December leading up to Christmas, the Canadiens are forced to play on the road because their home venue, Centre Bell, is unavailable due to other planned event.  This year the Habs are in for a wild ride.  First, they play one road game on Dec 23 vs Columbus.  Habs return home for Christmas break, and go back on the road where they will play three games in four nights.  Beginning Dec 28 vs Florida, Dec 29 vs Tampa, and ring in the new year Dec 31 in Vegas.

Speaking of Florida, the defending Stanley Cup Championships, Habs fans will only see them play in Montreal on April 1st.  That’s seven months into the season!!

Like every season, the Canadiens play two afternoon home games on Super Bowl weekend.   And this season New Jersey (Feb 8) and Tampa (Feb 9) are the opponents.

The Canadiens also have two western road trips scheduled.  In early February they make their annual California trip.  And in March they visit Alberta, BC, and Seattle.

Finally here’s the most peculiar aspect on the 2024-25 season.  Distance travelled.  The Canadiens are schedule to travel 43,300 miles.  Ranking them 13th overall.  However, the Ottawa Senators who are located 125 miles from Montreal, are ranked 31st, and only have travel 32,800 miles.

The Canadiens conclude their 2024-25 regular season at home on Wednesday April 16, 2025 vs Carolina.
